Camden House, Whiskeytown Lake Family Session

This session at the Camden House was nothing short of an adventure. The two boys, best friends of my own kids, brought an extra layer of excitement to the day. Eager to make a splash— literally—they took the idea of "fun photos by the water" to a whole new level. The youngest, a fun 5-year-old, discovered he had accidentally made some tiny friends—leeches! It was a moment of shock followed by lots of laughter. The older brother, not to be outdone, decided he wanted to experience the sensation of leeches too and eagerly ran back into Whiskeytown Lake.

What started as a casual day of family photos turned into a reminder of the joys that come with being in the moment. Even as wild and unpredictable as those moments can be. This is important. The boys' curiosity and happiness over playing in the water and being covered in leeches reminded me of the simplicity of childhood and the importance simply having fun every once in a while.

I encourage everyone to go along with the unscripted moments in life. Whether it's random encounters with leeches or spontaneous laughter with loved ones, these moments become the stories we cherish and the memories that make us who we are. So, Box family, thank you for not only being friends to my family, but for letting me photograph your precious moments. Such a fun time!
