Hi, I’m Diana!
My goal is to photograph personalities, connection, and emotion, while at the same time still creating a beautiful piece of artwork you can cherish for years.
Let’s get to know each other
I’m a born and raised California girl who loves camping, hiking, exploring and in general just being outdoors. I love traveling, and after recently living in Australia for 4 years, I’ve been enjoying spending time with family and friends more than ever. I really value time spent with loved ones, and experiences more than anything else.
When not taking photos, I can be found exploring local parks and museums with my 3 year old, hiking around the bay area, at the beach, on mini trips to visit friends and family, or working in our garden.
How I Got Started
I got started in the photo industry as a college freshman who really wanted to take a photography class. At the university I was going to, the photography classes were so popular that it was nearly impossible to get into them, unless you were a photography major. I decided I would just declare myself a major, take the classes I wanted, and then decide later on what I would actually do with my life.
Well, after that first class I was hooked.
One class turned into many more, turned into internships with newspapers and commercial photographers, being photo editor of the school newspaper, and a career of of managing studios for other photographers.
Some weekend in the middle of all of this I assisted a photographer at a wedding and instantly knew I wanted to shoot weddings. It was so fun, emotional, stressful, joyful and amazing that I just wanted to shoot more. So I started assisting more, and eventually started shooting weddings full time.
From there my past clients started having families and asked me to photograph them, and I fell in love with a another form of photography-lifestyle family photos. I absolutely love kids, and love capturing the connection that families have with each other.
My goal with both my wedding work and my family work is to photograph personalities, connection, and emotion, while at the same time still creating a beautiful piece of artwork you can cherish for years.
You want photos that not only look amazing, but capture your personality and the connection you have with your loved ones. You prefer documentary style images versus a perfectly styled pinterest worthy wedding or photoshoot. You are laid back and don’t mind tromping through the woods to get to a beautiful location, or getting a little wet at your beach photoshoot! Your kids may be a little wild, but you are a fun and loving happy family!
My style is a mix of lifestyle/documentary and traditional photography. My favorite things to capture are candid moments, connections between people, love and laughter. However I realize that a lot of people want and need more than completely documentary, so I also do a bit of directing, and pose people in a way that feels natural. The result are photos that make you relive memories, and that you also want to hang on your wall.
